Pool Start Up Instructions

Blue world pools, inc. Be sure to follow these above ground pools maintenance instructions to the letter!

You will need 2 gal. Clorox and water softener salt

  1. Fill pool until water is 1' below top of skimmer opening.
  2. Now is the time to connect the electric to the system. If you are going to use an extension cord for the pump, the cord must be at least 12 guage. If cord is longer than 50 feet, you must use a 10 guage cord. Using a lighter cord will result in your motor running hot and tripping the thermal overload switch and evenutually burning up your motor, which is not covered under any warranty. You will need 2 electrical outlets; one for the pump motor, the other is for the ion system.
  3. With multport valve in backwash position, turn on the pump. Run pump until water flow is clear and clean. This will take about 2 to 3 minutes. Turn pump off rotate valve to rinse. Turn pump on and run again until clear. Repeat this process. Turn pump off, move valve to filter, and turn pump on. At this time water should be returning to your pool. Check pressure guage. Make a note of this reading. This is your clean filter reading.

  4. Set dial on ion system to 3. Run pump another 24 hours.
  5. Test the total alkalinity. Adjust as needed. Range is 80 to 120. Ideal is 100.
  6. Test the ph. Adjust as needed. Needs to be between 7.2 and 7.6. Ideal is 7.4

You must add one to two gallon clorox each week. proper water balance is nescessary to maintain clear and healthy water. At times, due to adverse weather conditions or heavy bather load, you may feel the floor or walls of the pool to be slick or slimly. This can be cured by pouring in a gallon of clorox at this time.
